At this month’s FFN@N, we learned from Mike Carter, one of 91 professionally certified golf instructors associated with The Plane Truth golf instruction. Jim Hardy, world top 10 teacher and Chris O’Connell, Matt Kuchar’s instructor, are the driving force behind The Plane Truth golf instruction. Mike’s instruction is based on the paradigm that the golf swing is either one plane or two plane and it will benefit a golfer to understand which type of swing he or she has. Once the student has this knowledge, the lesson is simply one of neutralizing the steep and shallow issues a student has in the swing.

Mike Carter Bio

Mike is a 1970 graduate of The Citadel. After graduation he served in the Medical Field Service Corp of the United States Army. Upon completing his service to his country, he returned to Greenville and subsequently purchased two golf driving ranges where he taught golf. In his early thirties, he sold both ranges and entered the financial services industry. In 2010 Mike retired.

Having loved teaching golf when he was in his twenties, Mike decided teaching would be a great way to stay active and supplement his retirement income. After researching the best golf instructors in America, Mike went to Houston to study under Jim Hardy and Chris O’Connell. Jim was recently inducted into the PGA Teachers Hall Of Fame. Chris is best known as the instructor of Matt Kuchar. Jim and Chris founded Plane Truth Golf Instruction and Plane Truth Golf TV. PTGI has instructors all over the world. Mike currently teaches at the Eagle Zone in Greenville.
