This month’s First Friday Networking at Noon event featured a talk on Medicare Basics. Mike Head educated us on a very general overview of Medicare and what options people have when they become eligible. Since Intelligent Investing is a fee-only fiduciary advisor, we do not sell any products, including insurance. However, we think it is prudent to be well-educated on a number of financial planning topics, including Medicare.

Biography

Mike Head is a graduate of Clemson University and the Leadership in Life Institute. Before joining Head Financial in 2010, he spent several years in packaging sales and manufacturing management.

Mike’s practice focuses on employee benefit and individual life & health insurance solutions. He specializes in self-insured and wellness strategies for small employers looking to combat rising healthcare cost.

As a member of NAIFA, the National Association of Insurance & Financial Advisors, Mike has served in various leadership roles on the state and local level. He is currently serving as Vice President/Treasurer of NAIFA-Upstate. He recently was awarded the 2016-2017 South Carolina Young Advisor of the Year award. Mike is also an active member of the National Association of Health Underwriters and the Clemson Alumni Association.

Mike and his wife Sara, are members of Mauldin United Methodist Church and have three children – Lawson, Max, and Maggie.
